At the time, I was stunned and a little indignant, but with a few years and some perspective I can admit that I did have/wear a lot of makeup at that time. My aim then was to look as mature and pulled together as possible. Now? Now that I am actually mature (and hopefully pulled together...) my goal with makeup is to look as much like myself as possible. I mean, a little better obviously, but still.
I go light on the eyeshadow, choosing a brightening peachy shade for the lower lid and a matte brown for the crease to add definition. Just a touch of navy blue eyeshadow, applied wet as an eyeliner along my lash line to make those lashes look fuller. A few coats of mascara. Concealer under the eyes. Fill in the brows with a brown eye shadow. Powder foundation applied lightly all over. And a peachy blush applied all over my face to add warmth. Lips? Just a plummy balm. The after? Not a whole lot different. (Right? Or am I out of my mind and still a freaking pageant queen?)
