Anyone who has shopped with my mom knows that there's a very short window of opportunity to get her into a dressing room and to try on clothes. Once she goes in, she's not coming back out to grab a different size or color. Simply not happening. So our strategy was to go through the store and pick out every single thing either one of us could possibly want to try on, in multiple sizes, before hitting the dressing room. We each committed to two rules:
- Try on anything that looks interesting, whether it's your style or not
- The final purchase has to be a casual outfit - we both have way too many "work" outfits in our closets
You guys, we just had the best time trying on almost everything in the store. And the sales associates working there could not have been nicer (especially with all the clothes we left in the dressing rooms!). They seemed delighted that we were having such a good time.
Here are the outfits we each chose. Mom went with a pair of navy blue cropped pants, a navy tank top with silver stars along the neckline (no accessories required - bonus!), and an open-weave white cardigan. I chose a white linen skirt (which I was so shocked to fall in with...I never wear linen!), a navy tank top, a yellow cardigan and a long metal necklace.
I hope you had a great weekend - what did you do?
