Another product I won't purchase again is the Aveeno Skin Strengthening Body Cream. The lotion comes with lots of claims about restoring extremely dry, fragile skin (which...fragile? that evokes all kinds of unpleasant images of peeling skin, right?) but bottom line? The light, clean scent is delightful but my skin actually felt tighter and drier post application. Basically, the complete opposite of what I was looking for.
And finally, an old standby. St. Ives Oatmeal and Shea Butter lotion is one I've used for years. The scent is very neutral, the formula nice and thick. It sinks into the skin quickly and leaves every inch feeling hydrated and wonderful. I have repurchased this, already.
I went on a Clinique kick, rediscovering the brand of my youth. I especially enjoyed using these two mascaras - High Impact Curling Mascara (top) and Lash Doubling Mascara (bottom). I have very heavy lashes that droop after a couple hours of makeup application, so I really appreciated the way the High Impact Curling Mascara held their curl. I'd layer that one onto my lashes first, then follow up with the Lash Doubling Mascara for extra volume and oomph. I'm currently using (and loving) Pacifica Beauty's Stellar Gaze mascara so don't plan to repurchase the other two - however, I do recommend them based on their performance.
Super Clean Spray is a very serviceable hairspray. There's nothing inherently special about it, though I do like the light hold it offers - no crunchy hair here. I'm not sure I'd trust it to hold a special-occasion updo in place, but for everyday finishing it does the job. My husband also uses this spray, and likes it, so I've repurchased a bottle for our cabinet.
